2019: Rebranding Gamma Phi Beta

In the summer of 2019, Gamma Phi Beta unveiled an updated brand identity. The Sorority partnered with Rhyme & Reason Design, a full-service creative firm located in Atlanta, Georgia, to create a modernized logo, tagline, updated colors and new website. The Crescent of Gamma Phi Beta was also given an updated look and content redesign to better showcase member stories and topics of interest to women.

Former International President Annabel Jones (Oklahoma) spoke of the redesign in the summer 2019 issue of The Crescent, stating, “This new look represents 18 months of research, feedback and creative thinking to allow us to modernize and strengthen our brand image. Our new brand identity was created to satisfy all the existing expectations of what our previous mark stands for, while simultaneously moving Gamma Phi Beta forward. Striving to maintain an iconic and recognizable mark was our primary goal. This was achieved by carefully deconstructing the existing Gamma Phi Beta mark and studying what made it unique. We did this in conjunction with a careful evaluation of the other symbols that represent our sisterhood. Our result was a marriage of the previous logo with one of Gamma Phi Beta’s most iconic symbols – our badge.”
