Gamma Phi Getaway is going to Portugal! For the first time, Gamma Phi Getaway is open to alumnae and their plus one. Now you can explore the world with your Gamma Phi sisters and your favorite travel companion.
The main trip with overnight stops in Porto, Douro Valley Countryside and Lisbon will run from September 22-30, 2026. Stay a few extra days to explore the Algarve region with an additional overnight stay in Lisbon from October 1-3, 2026.

Gamma Phi Getaway trips are designed for Gamma Phi Beta members. Some trips are open exclusively to members, while others allow each member to bring one non-member companion (age 18+). Please check the details of the specific trip you’re interested in to see who is eligible to attend.
For select Gamma Phi Getaway trips, members may bring one non-member companion (age 18+). Companion eligibility will be noted in each trip’s details. For trips that are members-only, we look forward to welcoming sisters on an adventure designed just for Gamma Phi Betas.

EF Go Ahead Tours provides an airfare package at the time of booking. If you would like to book your own flights, you can, but you are responsible for any delays you may encounter, resulting in missed time on tour, as well as transportation to and from the airport. Once you book your trip, you can access the tour app, which has a messaging feature.
This is a brisk-paced tour. The pace of a tour itinerary considers how often you’ll switch hotels, the amount of planned daily activities and how you’ll get from place to place.
In addition to the exciting opportunity for Gamma Phis to explore the world alongside other members, Gamma Phi Beta receives a small commission.
- Travelers should be prepared to walk two to three miles per day; this includes city streets, cobblestones, stairs and hills.
- Stone pathways and cobblestone streets can become slick when wet.
- Travelers should be healthy enough to participate in all included walks without assistance.
- Please Note: Adding optional excursions may increase the total amount of walking on tour.
- Go Ahead Tours and the tour director of your group are unable to provide special mobility or luggage handling assistance to travelers on tour. The responsibility of the tour director is to ensure the group enjoys a smooth and informative journey, and they can’t be relied on to provide individualized assistance to any one traveler.
- This tour moves at a reasonable pace to avoid missing scheduled stops. The rest of the group cannot miss any scheduled activities because of the needs of an individual.
- Due to the pace and physical activity level of this tour, mobility aids such as wheelchairs or walkers will be difficult to use and are not recommended. Please notify Go Ahead Tours before your departure if you plan to bring these on tour with you.

- Most days are full of included activities (more if you add excursions).
- Most transportation by motor coach.
- Occasional transfers by train and boat.
- About two to three hours of bus time daily.
