REAL Leadership Institute

REAL Leadership Institute (RLI) is an in-person leadership event for Gamma Phi Beta's workforce, including International Council (IC), Sorority volunteers, advisors and International Headquarters (IH) staff. The RLI experience provides training and developmental programming to achieve our strategic plan and equip the workforce to provide a quality member experience for our collegians and alumnae. To maximize relationship-building and think holistically about the member experience, RLI 2023 will once again run in conjunction with our Housing and Facilities Conference (HFC), sponsored by the Facilities Management Company (FMC), to include our housing workforce with joint programming opportunities.

What can you expect to take away from RLI 2023?

  • An enhanced self-awareness as it relates to your role, workforce team and the Sorority.
  • Critical skill development relevant to the strategic plan and collegiate member experience.
  • Important knowledge about Gamma Phi Beta operations, higher education trends and working with collegians.
  • Sisterhood, networking and rejuvenation!

Who is invited?

All approved Sorority international volunteers will receive an invitation to register for RLI in mid-March. If you have questions about this or did not receive an invitation, please consult your direct supervisor for more information. Invitations are non-transferable unless you are being replaced in your current position. Each Sorority volunteer is responsible for her own registration fee. Other expenses as outlined (flight credit, travel meals, hotel, etc.) will be at the expense of the Sorority.

International Headquarters will extend an invitation to one advisor from each chapter to attend RLI. If you are invited and unable to attend and would like another advisor to be considered as a replacement, please contact your collegiate chapter supervisor for approval. A substituted advisor should be someone who will return to the chapter and proactively share their experience and make good use of this outstanding educational opportunity. The registration fee and all other travel expenses are at the cost of the collegiate chapter.

Gamma Phi Beta leadership, education and philanthropic programming is funded in part by the Gamma Phi Beta Foundation. We extend our sincere gratitude to the Foundation and the many generous donors that allow the Sorority to create this programming.
