1875: New Members
By the fall of 1875, Flora Crane had been initiated. For this tiny cluster of ladies, competing with Alpha Phi during rush (now recruitment) seemed a daunting task but when they received word that three young ladies from Fredonia, New York – Ida Noble (Syracuse, 1875), Elizabeth Haywood (Syracuse, 1875) and Flora Humason (Syracuse, 1875) – intended to register, they were immediately and successfully courted upon their arrival in Syracuse. Kate Foster (Syracuse, 1875) joined as well, being initiated in October, 1875.
Barbara Flora Crane (Syracuse, 1875).
Elizabeth Haywood (Syracuse, 1875) was initiated in Fall 1875, along with two other women from Fredonia, New York.
