Convention 1988: Palm Desert, California
July 26-30, 1988, Conventioneers traveled to Palm Desert, California, for the 63rd Convention, hosted at the Marriott Desert Springs Hotel. This hotel has since been renamed as the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort and Spa. This was the seventh Convention held in California in Gamma Phi Beta’s history.

Xi Chapter (Idaho), Omega Chapter (Iowa State), Beta Phi Chapter (Indiana) and Epsilon Epsilon Chapter (Union) were honored with McCormick Medallion awards.
