Convention 1994: Naples, Florida
The 66th Convention was held July 26-30, 1994, in Naples, Florida, at the Registry Resort. This resort is now called the Waldorf Astoria Naples. This was the first Convention held in Florida.
More than 600 Gamma Phi Betas attended the Convention – themed Hot Fun in the Florida Sun – where they enjoyed dynamic speakers, informational workshops and roundtable discussions. Highlights of the week included International President Diane Tjaden Thompson’s (Iowa State) message about changing with the ever-transforming culture and the Foundation’s raffle and dinner that raised more than $30,000 to support Sorority leadership programming, financial aid for members and philanthropic giving.
