Convention 2022: St. Louis, Missouri

Sisters convened in St. Louis, Missouri, from June 22-26, 2022, for the 80th Gamma Phi Beta Convention. The event was particularly special, as it followed a four-year hiatus, with the last in-person Convention taking place in 2018. The theme "As Long As We're Together" set a unique tone for the celebration, emphasizing the importance of unity and sisterly connections.

Collegians and alumnae, reuniting after the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, relished the opportunity to create in-person memories with old and new friends. Responding to member feedback on past Conventions, Gamma Phi Beta professional staff crafted an abbreviated schedule, reducing the cost and time associated with the event to enhance accessibility.

Notably, Convention 2022 was historic as it embraced a hybrid format for the first time. This allowed members to log in from their places of comfort to watch business sessions, witness awards presentations and join the 150th launch luncheon — an integral part of the festivities that garnered a lot of excitement for the Sorority’s 150 anniversary in 2024.

The fall 2022 issue of The Crescent gives a full recap of Convention 2022 on Pages 23-33.
