Delta Eta Chapter (California-Irvine)
Delta Eta Chapter was installed at the University of California-Irvine in Irvine, California, on January 19, 1974. Delta Eta Chapter was the first chapter installed in the second century of Gamma Phi Beta.
The eight California chapter of Gamma Phi Beta came into being under this supervision of Director of Expansion Elna Magnusson Scheinfeld (Idaho), with Lynn Thompson Lenk (Arizona) directing the new member period. The Initiation of 33 collegians and 8 alumnae was conducted by Gamma Eta Chapter (California State-Long Beach), assisted by Delta Delta Chapter (California State-Fullerton), under the direction of International Ritual Chairman* Marian Corley Hulsey (Oklahoma City). The banquet room of the Mission Viejo Hilton was the scene of the Pink Carnation Banquet that followed installation. Chapter President Denise Wagoner Siedhoff (California-Irvine) accepted teh charter for members of the new Delta Eta Chapter from Grand President** Audrey Weldon Shafer (Missouri-Columbia, 1938).
