Karima Soliman (Oklahoma)
Why did you join Gamma Phi Beta, and what is your best Gamma Phi memory?
I joined Gamma Phi Beta because it was the only house where I felt truly comfortable. Every member I spoke with during formal recruitment made me feel seen and genuinely welcomed. Joining Gamma Phi is a decision I will never regret. While I have so many great memories, my favorite is the movie nights we had in the Great Room during my sophomore year when I lived in the chapter house. Those nights were always so hectic and fun — a perfect way for our member class to bond with sisters we didn’t usually hang out with.
As a 2022 graduate, can you share your current involvement with Gamma Phi Beta?
I currently serve as the public relations advisor for Psi Chapter (Oklahoma), recruitment advisor for Theta Chapter (Denver) and as a Gamma Phi Gives Day ambassador for the Foundation!
You served as a Gamma Phi Gives Day ambassador last year and will again in 2025. Why is this an important volunteer experience for you?
The Foundation does such important work to support our organization and members, and I feel very fortunate to see the impact of that work every day. Being an ambassador allows me not only to help raise funds but also share with others the incredible work the Foundation does that I witness firsthand.
What would you say to others who are thinking about being an ambassador in 2025?
I say go for it! It’s a fun, low-commitment way to get involved while making an impact! It's also a great opportunity to learn more about how the Foundation supports our organization and members, and to share how the Foundation has impacted you or sisters you know. Plus, you get to connect with so many people — all for a good cause!
Why is supporting the Foundation important to you?
I've had the privilege of witnessing firsthand the impact the Foundation has on our organization and members. It’s hard to put into words all the ways the Foundation makes an impact — from supporting individual members to strengthening our Sorority as a whole. Supporting the Foundation means I’m also supporting sisters in need.
