Hallie Dillon (Alabama) Donor Spotlight

Why did you join Gamma Phi Beta?

I absolutely fell in love with Gamma Phi on day one of recruitment as a freshman. I met my (now) Big Sister, Laura Abernathy Wildzunas, and I knew immediately it was the place for me. Coming back day after day during recruitment only solidified my number one choice was the best one!

What keeps you connected to the Sorority and your sisters?

I stay in touch with so many sisters from my chapter (Epsilon Lambda) and honestly have throughout my life. We often meet up at the chapter facility for Bama (Roll Tide!) football games or anywhere a few of us happen to be supporting the Tide. My sisters were the reason I joined Gamma Phi and the reason I stay involved. I couldn’t love these women anymore! I, like so many, have been in Gamma Phi weddings, had my Little Sister, Angela Hanners Wilson, in my wedding and have supported my sisters with children, life changes, losses and so much more. My mom became an alumnae initiate, and although she has now passed away, Gamma Phi Beta was an incredible bond I am so glad we shared. My 11-year-old daughter, Adeline, has been to Epsilon Lambda’s chapter facility more times than she can count, and being able to share this love with the next generation is incredibly meaningful.

Why did you decide to be a match donor on Gamma Phi Gives Day?

When Gamma Phi asked, I was honored to help in any way I could. I knew I could reach so many sisters via a group text, and I’m so pleased to say not only did we meet our match, but we also exceeded it! What a feeling it is to have so many contribute.

Why is continued support to the Foundation important to you?

What we do today helps shape the future of our Sorority. Gamma Phi has meant so much to me over the years and to be able to extend that love to future Gamma Phis is incredibly important and rewarding.

What would you say to encourage others to become Foundation donors?

What might be a small investment can really grow and support our legacy. Especially now, as our 150 anniversary is upon us, it is the perfect time to give back to an organization that has brought us all together as sisters.
