Fraya Lynn Black is currently serving in her first term as a Vice President on Gamma Phi Beta’s International Council. Fraya also serves as chairwoman of the Sorority’s Finance Committee and is a member of the Ritual and History Committee. A member of Beta Chapter at the University of Michigan, Fraya has a Bachelor of Arts degree in organizational studies. Fraya currently resides in Chicago, Illinois and is a director with PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC).
A strong and diligent businesswoman, Fraya works within PwC’s Strategic Supply Management practice where she provides leadership on project engagements focused on cost reduction and procurement operations. Her business interests include operations, organizational alignment and finance, with a strong passion for teaching and mentoring.
A 20-year Gamma Phi Beta volunteer, Fraya has been a chapter financial advisor, alumnae chapter Panhellenic delegate, served in various alumnae chapter officer roles, including chapter president, and was most recently a collegiate chapter supervisor, providing support and guidance for optimal chapter operations to Gamma Phi Beta collegiate chapters.
In her Chicago community, Fraya supports Gamma Phi Beta’s philanthropic partner, Girls on the Run as a volunteer and sponsor. She also volunteers for Ladder-up, a tax assistance program, preparing and filing individual income tax returns for low-income Chicago-area taxpayers. Fraya is an active member of synagogues in Chicago and Fort Lauderdale, participating in social action activities and facilitating adult education classes.
Fraya and her husband, Chris, have been married for seven years. Chris is a member of Delta Chi and is active on the Delta Chi alumni board. Fraya and Chris are also the proud aunt and uncle to one niece and three nephews. In her free time, Fraya loves to travel and read.
