Housing and Facilities Webinar Series

The Housing and Facilities Webinar Series sponsored by the Facilities Management Company (FMC) features four virtual education opportunities scheduled between March and May 2021. These webinars are intended to address current housing issues that are important to our facility boards, volunteers, committees and managers when planning for the next academic year.

Who is invited?

All affiliated house corporation (AHC) boards and local facility advisory committees (LFAC), chapter presidents, financial vice presidents, facility managers, chapter advisors and financial advisors are invited to join us!

At least one member from your AHC is encouraged to attend; although, we encourage you to bring anyone who would benefit from the provided information. 

Why should you attend?

  • Network with other AHCs, LFACs, collegiate officers and volunteers.
  • Gain access to experts, FMC and Sorority resources and educational sessions to meet your needs in facility management.
  • Connect and/or re-connect with Gamma Phi Beta’s preferred vendors as you plan future housing contracts.

In this session, participants will learn how to:

  • Review and update housing agreements.
  • Evaluate and negotiate vendor contracts.
  • Maximize AHC budgets.

In this session, participants will learn how to:

  • Explain the three duties of all board members.
  • Describe the basic board operational functions.
  • Explain the importance of succession planning and volunteer recruitment.

Who should attend?
All AHCs and LFACs, chapter presidents, financial vice presidents, facility managers, chapter advisors and financial advisors are invited to join us!

All boards and committees should consider bringing at least two members to ensure continuity in training through 2023. Programming will be geared to all types of facilities: freestanding, dorms and suites.

Consider bringing collegiate board members, financial advisors or chapter advisors, too. As members of your board these individuals could also benefit from attending the conference!

What should I wear?
Attire for the webinar is Gamma Phi Beta casual. Please plan on wearing comfortable jeans or shorts and a fun Gamma Phi Beta t-shirt or sweatshirt. If you don’t own any Gamma Phi Beta gear, dressing in our brand colors is encouraged!

What should I bring?

  • A stable Wi-Fi connection and a private place that you can focus.
  • A notebook and pen to write down all your new ideas, tips and tools to take back to your chapter, board, team and/or committee.
  • Beverages and snacks to keep you focused.
  • An open mind and lots of questions.

Will you be recording the event? If so, how can I watch it later?
