Elizabeth Pitcairn (Southern California)

Violin virtuoso Elizabeth Pitcairn has earned a stunning reputation as one of America’s most beloved soloists. She appeared as soloist with the Philadelphia Orchestra at the Academy of Music. In 2000, she gave her New York debut at Alice Tully Hall with the New York String Orchestra. Elizabeth also attended the Vermont-based Marlboro Music Festival, classical music's most coveted concerts. She has since performed at Carnegie Hall, Walt Disney Hall, the Fisher Center, the Kimmel Center and has played live around the world, from Brazil to China. Elizabeth attended the University of Southern California (USC) where she joined Beta Alpha Chapter of Gamma Phi Beta. At USC, she met concert pianist Louise Thomas, also a Gamma Phi Beta. Elizabeth served as adjunct professor of violin at USC and the Colburn School in Los Angeles. She is currently the chief executive officer and artistic director of the Luzerne Music Center, a premiere international summer camp for gifted young musicians in New York. Elizabeth performs in partnership with the legendary “Red Mendelssohn” Stradivarius, said to have inspired the Academy Award-winning film, “The Red Violin.” For her tour schedule, please visit RedViolin.com
