Volunteer Spotlight

Gamma Phi Beta features a handful of our amazing volunteers on a quarterly basis. Read on to learn more about this quarter's volunteers in the spotlight!

Adrianne Lippman Thompson (Oklahoma)
Adrianne resides in Birmingham, Alabama, where she is the regional coordinator-collegiate for Region 3. In addition to Gamma Phi Beta, Adrianne loves attending sporting events for her favorite teams, the Oklahoma Sooners and Chicago Cubs. In her spare time, Adrianne enjoys running, cooking and collecting cookbooks.

Outside of her Gamma Phi Beta volunteer role, Adrianne is a lawyer in the Trust Department of a regional bank. Birmingham’s Junior League also benefits from Adrianne’s skills and experiences as she works with children from homes affected by domestic violence, working on self-esteem skills and anger management.

“As a collegian I had outstanding support from a great group of advisors who loved volunteering for Gamma Phi Beta. I hope I'm able to follow their example and return the favor by providing guidance to the wonderful collegians and volunteers with whom I interact.”

Melissa Ford (Rutgers)
Region 2’s regional director, Melissa Ford, recently moved to Collierville, Tennessee with her husband Brad and 5-year-old son Bennett. Melissa plans to return to work next fall when Bennett begins school. A self-professed “foodie," Melissa enjoys cooking, reading and running. Italy and Hawaii are two destinations on Melissa’s travel list as she enjoys sightseeing.

As a volunteer for Gamma Phi Beta Melissa gains job satisfaction from seeing the impact Gamma Phi Beta has on collegiate chapter members as they learn skills that help them in the real world. Melissa “loves, loves, loves working with the regional team and other volunteer leaders!”

Ann Hipskind Campbell (Northwestern)

Ann, Gamma Phi Beta’s sorority director of housing resources lives in Lake in the Hills, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. In addition to volunteering for Gamma Phi Beta, Ann is a substitute teacher and is working toward earning her secondary teaching certificate.

Mom to two active sons, Ann is able to balance an active lifestyle and her volunteer commitments by working on Gamma Phi Beta responsibilities once the kids go to bed!

Girl time is one of the main reasons Ann chooses to actively volunteer for the Sorority. Since she's surrounded by boys at home, so volunteering for the Sorority gives her a chance to work with amazing women. Ann shares that since she was not very involved in Gamma Phi Beta as a collegian, this is now her way of giving back!

Jessica Jewell (College of Idaho)
Residing in Boise, Idaho, Jessica volunteers as both the sorority coordinator- new member education and as special recruitment consultant for Epsilon Epsilon Chapter (Union College). Jessica enjoys the outdoors with her family as they regularly hike, bike, raft, camp and fly fish. Cheering for Michigan and Idaho’s college football teams is another passion!

In addition to her volunteer role with Gamma Phi Beta, Jessica is the director for Heart Walk & Go Red for Women with the American Heart Association. She also finds time to volunteer for Positive Partners Assistance Dogs.

Jessica firmly believes that volunteering with Gamma Phi Beta helps her balance her professional and personal life. She has a very supportive family who understand her passion for our sisterhood.

“Gamma Phi Beta changed my life. As a founding member of Zeta Xi Chapter, I worked with many volunteer leaders and local alumnae who made an impact on my life. From day one, Gamma Phi Beta was a lifetime commitment for me.  As a former collegiate leadership consultant (CLC), I enjoy working with our collegiate members and hope that I provide them with positive guidance to help shape their chapters and become leaders. Plus I have so much FUN with the chapters! I've made lifelong friends with many collegians and numerous other volunteer leaders. I feel like I'm making a difference and helping our sisterhood shine.”
