Giving Societies

Generous donors are the lifeblood of the Foundation! By donating unrestricted gifts to the Foundation you may achieve membership in one of three giving societies.

  • Lifetime Giving Circles: Donors who make total contributions equalling $25,000 or more, including donations and bequests, join the Lifetime Giving Circle. The circle includes generous members, loved ones and friends of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority.
  • 1874 Society: For more than 18 years, the 1874 Society has continued to be our premier donor group of unrestricted funds.  Donors achieve 1874 Society membership by giving between $1,874 and $10,000+ annually.
  • Founders Society: Donors who give between $250 and $1,873 annually become members of the Founders Society.

The Importance of Donating "Unrestricted Funds"

Unrestricted gifts are donations not designated to a particular program, chapter or endowment. The Foundation applies unrestricted gifts to areas of greatest need, a vital component of the flexibility and day-to-day operations of the Foundation.

Because of unrestricted funds, we are able to administer and sustain our worthy programs, helping sisters like Mallory Richards, for example.

Mallory was a senior at University of Oregon when her father lost his job. Although she worked as a nanny in addition to a full-time course load, Mallory's income was not enough to pay for her educational expenses. She applied for a Foundation grant and was awarded the aid needed to keep her in school until graduation.

"It means so much to know my sisters are willing to help me in this time of need," says Mallory. "I feel truly blessed and grateful to have such a giving sisterhood."

"Because of your help, I'm able to finish college with my loving pledge class and enter the next phase of my life as an alumna. I can't wait to be in a position to help my sisters like you have helped me!"
