September Edition
The Search is Over!
The Gamma Phi Beta Foundation is delighted to announce that Kitty deKieffer began her new role as Executive Director on September 26. Trustees and staff are looking forward to her leadership and passion for our mission: to support and inspire the lifelong development of women. During 30 years of non-profit management, Kitty raised more than $20 million for multiple organizations. She joins the Foundation after seven years as Executive Director of Boulder Mental Health Partners Foundation and Development and Public Information Director of Mental Health Partners, serving Boulder and Broomfield Counties. A graduate of California State University-Fullerton with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, Kitty is a member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority, and served as both a Trustee and Chair of the Alpha Chi Omega Foundation. Please join us in welcoming Kitty to our Foundation family!
You can contact Kitty at kdekieffer@gammaphibeta.org beginning immediately. She can be reached by phone at (303) 799-1874, x 301 or by dialing (720) 457-1279 for her direct line.
Goodbye to Sherry
On a sadder note, the Foundation’s long-time Controller/Director of Operations, Sherry Ochoa-Rounkles resigned, effective August 31, 2011. Sherry dedicated eight years to the Gamma Phi Beta Foundation, and previously, worked for the Sorority for many years. Her exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills, as well as her quick wit, sweet personality and creativity will be missed. Initially, Sherry is taking some time for fun and relaxation and then plans to look into more creative opportunities. One of her passions is music; she has developed a website, Who-sang-that-song.com. She can be reached at sherryo8@msn.com.
Hello to Lisa Gray!
Foundation Trustees and staff members are pleased to welcome Lisa Gray, our interim Controller. Lisa and her husband have recently moved to Colorado from Michigan where she served as the Finance Director for the Oakland County Bar Association. She earned a bachelor of arts degree with a concentration in government from Pomona College in Claremont, California, including a year abroad at Lund University in Lund, Sweden. She later received her education in accounting from the University of West Florida. Lisa worked closely with Sherry before she left and is busy preparing for our annual audit.
Lisa can be reached at lgray@gammaphibeta.org or by phone at (303) 799-1874, x305.
Fall Appeals and Publications
Our fall appeal will be arriving in your mailbox, featuring the growth of the Sorority and an increased need for financial aid. The Foundation donor newsletter, From the Heart, is scheduled to be mailed in mid-October and is filled with Foundation news and a focus on our 1874 Society members for 2010-11 – our 20th anniversary year. Watch for our Annual Report in early November.
