Designated Gifts
Designated gifts are donations earmarked for a particular area of need and include named endowments and area grants. When making a donation, select the grant area of interest or endowment you would like to support in the Designation box.
Named Endowments
Named endowments are a wonderful way to leave a legacy in your area of passion. Endowments can be established to benefit a chapter, fund a scholarship and/or fellowship, provide leadership education for members or provide chapter advisor training.
Most named endowments require a minimum gift of $25,000 and can be paid over a five-year period. Exceptions include a Convention Leadership Endowment, requiring a minimum gift of $10,000 and a Collegiate Leadership Consultant (CLC) Endowment, requiring a minimum gift of $250,000.
All endowment gifts are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law. For more information, please contact Kitty deKieffer at kdekieffer@gammaphibeta.org.
Area Grants
The Foundation has several ways to help house corporation boards (HCBs) keep our chapter houses well-equipped and up-to-date.
By encouraging donors to give to their selected HCB through the Foundation, a house corporation board can raise tax-deductible money to fund designated chapter renovations. Qualifying expenses include updates to educational spaces or the purchase of educational equipment. Even donations toward annual operating expenses for educational spaces are tax deductible if the money is funneled through the Foundation.
An area grant endowment can also be established through the Foundation. For example, a $1 million endowment produces a minimum $40,000 grant to the chapter's house corporation board each year in perpetuity.
