Day of Service

Annual Day of Service - Building Resiliency in Girls

Gamma Phi Beta International Sorority is committed to improving our communities by providing experiences and resources that build spiritual, mental and social resiliency in girls.

Kid DayDay of Service, held each March, coincides with Camp Fire's "Absolutely Incredible Kid Day." On this day, we ask our sisters to invest their time, talent and resources in girls (ages 5-12) and in their community. If the specified date for Day of Service is not convenient, members may perform the service activity some time in March.

A 2006 research report from Girls Inc., reveals that girls today experience intense pressure, at ever younger ages, to be everything to everyone all of the time. According to the study, girls need support systems to bolster their ability to achieve their dreams and endure stress. This is where Gamma Phi Betas can make a difference; we can make new friends and show these girls just how "incredible" they are.
