Advisor Development Program

Course Overview
Advisors provide vaulable assistance to our collegiate chapters as they guide them toward future and continued excellence in every aspect of chapter life.  To enhance our advisors' leadership talents, Gamma Phi Beta provides ongoing training through our award-winning Online Advisor Development Program. Through this program, new advisors receive up-to-date information and training, preparing them for a successful advising experience with the Sorority.

Current advisors also receive new and updated training through the program without waiting for face-to-face training opportunities.

Online Advisor Training History
The Online Advisor Development Program was unveiled in 2006. The first of its kind in the interfraternal world, the program features 14 self-guided modules covering various aspects of advising. Learning is evaluated by online assessment and graduation is dependent upon an 80 percent or higher overall grade on the 14 module quizzes. Advisors who complete the course become Accredited Gamma Phi Beta Advisors and members of the H.M. Dodge Society.

Helen M. Dodge was the founder known as the “scholar” for her love of learning. Because she did not consider her education complete upon graduation, she continued to find opportunities to learn throughout her life. Helen was a mentor to other members, and thus, Gamma Phi Beta’s esteemed advising award is named in her honor.

Our Online Advisor Development Program is made possible in part by the generous support of the Collegiate Advisor Development Endowment. Established in 2005, the Endowment provides funding for learning opportunities like our online program and assist advisors with registration and travel expenses associated with attending regional and international conferences.
