Sorority Leadership Programs

International Council | Sorority Leadership Programs | IH Staff

With the strength of its mission serving as a guide, Gamma Phi Beta expresses its desire to empower women through numerous avenues. The Sorority’s training and development programs include all encompassing events such as Convention, Regional Leadership Conferences (RLCs), and Leadership Development Institute (LDI), to chapter programs such as PACE, Crescent Values programs, and the dialogs that occur between Gamma Phi Beta sisters during the course of a day.

Convention

At each Convention, members attend training sessions which are prepared and presented by Sorority members or guest trainers/speakers. Delegates also have the opportunity to take part in directing the Sorority as they cast their votes on important issues affecting Gamma Phi Beta.

Regional Leadership Conferences

The Sorority provides special training for collegians and collegiate chapter officers by delivering classes on such topics as leadership and philanthropy. The programs are prepared and presented by alumnae. Workshops are structured so that attendees may interact with one another. Collegians especially enjoy RLCs as it is a great opportunity to meet other collegiate sisters throughout the region and to learn from one another.

Leadership Development Institute

Additional education that the Sorority provides is to its volunteer alumnae leaders who volunteer countless hours in mentoring, coaching and advising collegians and collegiate chapters. Alumnae who have attended LDI view this educational training opportunity as an excellent support structure that helps them in their volunteer capacity as well as sustains them personally.

Personal and Chapter Enrichment Program

(PACE) and Crescent Values: These are two comprehensive educational programs developed and presented by Gamma Phi Beta members. Topics of the PACE programs include eating disorders, chemical dependency, responsible alcohol use and job interviewing skills. Chapters are encouraged to present the sessions throughout the year. Crescent Values programs challenge members to embrace and demonstrate the Sorority’s values throughout the various stages of membership: new member, collegian, senior and alumnae. Crescent Values is a series of educational training sessions addressing individual worth, service to humanity, intellectual growth, and lifetime commitment and are generally presented at regularly scheduled collegiate/alumnae chapter meetings.

Collegiate Leadership Consultants (CLCs)

Gamma Phi Beta hires recent graduates to serve as collegiate leadership consultants (CLCs) to visit collegiate chapters on an annual basis. These women are trained by international officers and International Headquarters staff to assist chapters with specific needs, including membership recruitment, leadership development and programming.

Traveling as a CLC is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! You could be a CLC if you are interested in:

  • Traveling to Gamma Phi Beta chapters
  • Developing career contacts
  • Assisting chapters with leadership development, chapter programming, membership recruitment and officer training, to name a few
