Our Services
We Fund Leadership Development
Leadership development, networking and career education are some of the benefits of lifetime membership in Gamma Phi Beta Sorority.
Leadership Development
The Gamma Phi Beta Foundation's first priority is to fund leadership development opportunities. Foundation grants to Gamma Phi Beta Sorority leadership development programs deliver on our promise to help members achieve their leadership potential.
Leadership and Educational Programs
The Foundation provides grants to the Sorority for educational programming and leadership development opportunities. These programs, designed to foster member and chapter growth, include Leadership Development Institutes, International Conventions and Regional Leadership Conferences, New Chapter Recruitment Consultant programs, Chapter Advisor Training, Web site development, The Crescent, and chapter house educational renovations.

The Foundation is proud to sponsor Gamma Phi Beta collegians in attending The LeaderShape Institute®, www.leadershape.org. This six-day program is conducted each summer at the University of Illinois Conference Center. The LeaderShape Institute® is designed to help young people learn to "lead with integrity." In the summer of 2008, through the generous support of our donors, we were able to send 14 collegiate members - our emerging leaders - to this program. We hope to grow our participation in this remarkable leadership experience each year until every chapter is able to send at least one member.
The Foundation continues its efforts to create endowments for leadership development. The Trustees would like to recognize Cathy Boudreaux Griffin (Louisiana State) for her recent contribution to this effort. 2007-2008 CLCs at Convention |
Each year, Gamma Phi Beta hires several recent graduates to travel to our U.S. and Canadian chapter and colonies as collegiate leadership consultants (CLCs). The Foundation supports consultant training, travel and technology for CLCs with proceeds from endowments and unrestricted funds.
In 2003, Ruth Andrea Seeler, M.D. (Vermont) provided the first named CLC Endowment. Her gift of $250,000 will fund one CLC each year in perpetuity. Ruth encourages all of her sisters to consider joining her in this effort. If you would like information on creating a named CLC endowment, click here.
Laurel Blair Salton Clark, M.D. Memorial Leadership Endowment
The Foundation launched the Laurel Blair Salton Clark, M.D. Memorial Leadership Endowment campaign in February 2004, the first anniversary of the loss of the Columbia space shuttle and our astronaut sister. Laurel (Wisconsin-Madison) has been described as a leader and doctor who was always eager for the next adventure. In 2008, we reached our goal of $500,000 to provide leadership support in perpetuity for future collegians.
This campaign includes appeals for gifts from individuals and Gamma Phi Beta chapters. Your support is still needed! To make a gift to the Laurel Clark Memorial Leadership Endowment, click here.
