Designated gifts are donations earmarked for a specific program or passion of the donor and can include named endowments and area grants.
Endowments
Named endowments are a wonderful way to leave a legacy in your area of passion. Endowments can be established to benefit a chapter, provide financial aid, offer leadership education or supplemental funding for our philanthropy initiatives.
Most endowments require a minimum gift of $25,000 and can be paid over a five-year period. All endowment gifts are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law. For more information, please contact Kitty deKieffer.
Area Grants
Gamma Phi Beta's House Corporation Boards (HCBs) provide invaluable expertise and are dedicated to managing and maintaining our chapter facilities. To help keep our chapter houses well-equipped and up-to-date, the Foundation has established several ways to assist HCBs in their renovations.
By encouraging donors to give to their selected HCB through the Foundation, a house corporation board can raise tax-deductible money to fund designated chapter renovations. Qualifying expenses include updates to educational spaces or the purchase of educational equipment. Even donations toward annual operating expenses for educational spaces are tax deductible if the money is funneled through the Foundation.
An area grant endowment can also be established through the Foundation. For example, a $1 million endowment produces a minimum $40,000 grant to the chapter's house corporation board each year in perpetuity.
