Living in a facility of Gamma Phi Beta is an integral part of Sorority
membership, whether it's a house for 60 women or a dorm floor created for 15
members.
Many chapters of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority have Sorority facilities either
owned by the local house corporation board (HCB) or the university. Alumnae who
serve as elected members of each HCB manage these facilities. With more than $85
million in property assets, our HCBs oversee a substantial investment.
Responsibilities of the HCB can include:
- Serving as the landlord for the chapter
- Employing a house director and other necessary staff
- Maintaining a safe, comfortable facility
- Planning for future needs of the chapter
Currently,
47 houses are owned and managed by Gamma Phi Beta house corporation boards. A
similar number of boards supervise university-owned facilities including
rentals, dorms, lodges, suites and chapter
rooms.
