Designated Gifts http://www.gammaphibeta.org/foundation/designatedgifts Designated gifts are donations earmarked for a specific program or passion of the donor and can include named endowments and area grants.

Endowments
Named endowments are a wonderful way to leave a legacy in your area of passion. Endowments can be established to benefit a chapter, provide financial aid, offer leadership education or supplemental funding for our philanthropy initiatives.

Most endowments require a minimum gift of $25,000 and can be paid over a five-year period. All endowment gifts are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law. For more information, please contact Kitty deKieffer.

Area Grants
Gamma Phi Beta's House Corporation Boards (HCBs) provide invaluable expertise and are dedicated to managing and maintaining our chapter facilities. To help keep our chapter houses well-equipped and up-to-date, the Foundation has established several ways to assist HCBs in their renovations.

By encouraging donors to give to their selected HCB through the Foundation, a house corporation board can raise tax-deductible money to fund designated chapter renovations. Qualifying expenses include updates to educational spaces or the purchase of educational equipment. Even donations toward annual operating expenses for educational spaces are tax deductible if the money is funneled through the Foundation.

An area grant endowment can also be established through the Foundation. For example, a $1 million endowment produces a minimum $40,000 grant to the chapter's house corporation board each year in perpetuity.

For more details, or to request a presentation to a house corporation board, please contact Kitty deKieffer.

Philanthropy http://www.gammaphibeta.org/foundation/philanthropy Gamma Phi Beta believes that girls need to be mentally, socially and physically strong to achieve their potential. Our mission to Build Strong Girls began in the 1920s as Gamma Phi Betas identified a desire to provide underprivileged girls a retreat from their daily circumstances and a place to learn about themselves and build character for facing life's challenges.

Since 1959, we have given nearly $2.3 million in total grants to our philanthropic partners. Gamma Phi Beta chapters raising funds to support Building Strong Girls are encouraged to complete the Philanthropy Grant Application from the Foundation.

If you're passionate about Building Strong Girls we invite you to make a difference and give a gift toward philanthropic opportunities for girls by selecting 'Philanthropy' from the drop-down menu in the designation box on the Donate Now page.

History http://www.gammaphibeta.org/foundation/history The Foundation was established in January 1959 as the fundraising arm of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority. The two are separate legal entities that support each other's missions, vision, and values. Both are housed at International Headquarters in Centennial, Colorado.

Gamma Phi Beta Sorority was one of the first National Panhellenic Conference organizations to establish a foundation for educational fundraising. In the last 50 years, Gamma Phi Beta Foundation has distributed more than $9 million: $4.1 million in leadership and educational grants, $2.6 million in financial aid to members and nearly $2.3 million to our philanthropic partners. That's something to celebrate!
