First Sorority Song

FIRST SORORITY SONG
In 1875, in honor of the first anniversary of the founding of Gamma Phi Beta, Founder Helen M. Dodge (Syracuse, 1874) composed "List the Watchword," the first official song of the Sorority.

In 1937, Helen commented, "The air tune [for 'List the Watchword'] was one that I caught by ear when a small girl sang it, and I chose it because it was one which would lend itself to the full name of our new Sorority."

Today, "List the Watchword is to be sung at Founders Day celebrations. You can even download the song's MP3 file and sheet music on our website!
