Girls on the Run Becomes a Philanthropic Partner

At Convention 2012, Gamma Phi Beta announced its new philanthropic focus, Building Strong Girls, and also announced its newest philanthropic partner, Girls on the Run.

A volunteer-led program, Girls on the Run weaves training for a 5k run with fun, experience-based lessons that improve self-awareness, build a collection of positive experiences and inspire life-changing confidence through accomplishment. Girls on the Run programming inspires self-respect and healthy lifestyles in girls, and their core curriculum addresses many aspects of girls' development.

"Both organizations are committed to creating a world where the strength, dignity and courage of women can be honored, celebrated and activated," said Girls on the Run Founder Molly Barker. "Providing girls and women with the life skills to be successful is what we are all about, and we look forward to seeing the power of our combined efforts in the years to come."
