FIRST INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION
The Sorority hosted its first international Convention at the Empress Hotel in British Columbia, Canada.
It was at this Convention where Gamma Phi Beta began the special tradition of holding the Pink Carnation Banquet. Originally titled, 'Carnation Banquet,' the word "Pink" was not added to the event's name until much later, as the specification of pink as the official carnation color was not affirmed until Convention 1950.
