THE CRESCENT MAGAZINE FIRST PUBLISHED
A letter from each chapter of the Sorority and a few paragraphs of editorial commentary printed on a fine quality of paper - and simply bound - this was the first venture of Gamma Phi Beta into the field of journalism! In the fall of 1900, the Sorority decided that having attained the strength of eight collegiate chapters and three alumnae chapters, Gamma Phi Beta should no longer defer the publication of a magazine. Thus,
The Crescent of Gamma Phi Beta was born.
The first issue was a small pamphlet with a tan cover adorned with a Gamma Phi Beta Greek-letter monogram and crescent. Over the years,
The Crescent and its cover has evolved with the artistic taste of the time.
